Türkiye’de 2008 yılından beri her Kasım ayında 178
ülkeyle aynı anda kutlanan Global Girişimcilik Haftası (GGH), STK ve
üniversitelerden oluşan 20 kurumun desteğiyle, bu sene GEN Türkiye ve Habitat
Derneği genel koordinasyonunda düzenleniyor. Ana amacı gençlerin girişimciliği
bir kariyer seçeneği olarak değerlendirmelerini teşvik etmek olsa da GGH; STK’lar,
üniversiteler, girişimciler, yatırımcılar, özel sektör, medya ve devlet
kurumlarının dahil olduğu, ekosistemde faaliyet gösteren 300’den fazla paydaş
kurumu bir araya getiren bir platform haline geldi. Hafta boyunca tüm GGH
paydaşları Türkiye genelinde yüzlerce girişimcilik etkinliği düzenliyor ve bu
alandaki farkındalığı artırıyor. GGH, Washington DC’de, Kauffman Vakfı
desteğiyle, tüm dünyada girişimcilik ekosistemini geliştirmeye odaklanmış
Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) şemsiyesi altında yürütülüyor.

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GGH), which has been
celebrated in Turkey at the same time in 178 countries every November since
2008, is organized this year under the general coordination of GEN Turkey and
Habitat Association, with the support of 20 institutions consisting of NGOs and
universities. Although its main purpose is to encourage young people to
consider entrepreneurship as a career option, GGH; It has become a platform
that brings together more than 300 stakeholder institutions operating in the
ecosystem, including NGOs, universities, entrepreneurs, investors, private
sector, media and government institutions. During the week, all GGH
stakeholders organize hundreds of entrepreneurship events throughout Turkey and
raise awareness in this area. GGH is run in Washington DC, with the support of
the Kauffman Foundation, under the umbrella of the Global Entrepreneurship
Network (GEN), focused on developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem around the
world.
As the Startus club, we are hosting pulsESG founder
and CEO Murat Sönmez on November 11 to talk about entrepreneurship and Silicon Valley.

Who is Murat Sonmez ?
CEO and Co-Founder
Murat is CEO of pulseESG.
As one of the co-founders of TIBCO SOFTWARE in 1997,
he had over one billion dollars of growth as head of customer-facing operations
as a publicly traded company. In 2014, Murat was invited to join the board of
directors of the world economic forum in Geneva, where he is responsible for
global business participation. He moved to San Francisco in 2017 as the
founding head of the technology policy arm of the fourth industrial revolution
network center based in San Francisco and now operates in more than 13
countries with hundreds of companies. Murat Istanbul has a BS in industrial
engineering from Bogazici University in Turkey and an MA in industrial
engineering and operations research from virginia tech.
